Albert Einstein said, “Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing it is stupid.” How many times have we focused on an employee’s weaknesses, rather than creating a way for them to excel through the development of their strengths? We create a job description, hire someone to do that job, then focus our efforts to improve what they are doing wrong. To correct their weaknesses. To make the fish a better tree climber. What if we created an atmosphere where we return them to the water? Let them expand on their strengths that may even be beyond the originally defined job description. What impact would that have on our organizations? At Remote-Learner we asked ourselves, “How do we get the “fish to water” and prevent employee disengagement?” We did our homework and determined it is all in how organizations create an atmosphere of success for employees. When we combined digital tools with a committed team and a solid strategy we found the impact was more transformative then even we had hoped. The micro-role system we created increased employee performance by allowing employees’ strengths and skill sets to easily be matched with their roles within the company. Come learn how you can develop this system in your organization.
